Do you remember those happy days in our lives?
When we lived in a time of imagination and happiness?
We had boxes of crayons and markers with sheets of paper under our feet
And we drew away what we saw in our young minds

Do you remember that time when you laughed with a golden smile?
We painted with our hands and drew our happy family
We didn't care about the world around us at that time
We were living in our land of make believe

Do you remember that time when you played with your toys?
Imagination made them seem real and they were our closet friends
Now they are just pieces of plastic and wool
They are no longer real to us anymore

Do you remember that time when we grew up?
The world finally came clear to us
The world we thought was a good place is now a prison
The sun doesn't shine anymore and we have inanimate friends

The drawings you made are pointless
The tribes you join are your family
Mommy and daddy get in constant fights about the green paper
The world finally came down and our imagination turned the tables

The sun that used to simile now frowns in our minds
The blue skies now turn grey and storms come and good
The drawings you made now turn to pieces of paper that has pointless scribbles
The toys that you play with are stored away in boxes below

Do you remember that time when you had to use your imagination?
It was for many assignments in school
You paniced because you forgot how to imagine
It's been so long since you can imagine

Do you remember when you got free naps and cookies?
You could sleep away and dream of the happy sun
And you could always taste that delicious chocolate chip
But now you can't sleep without seeing darkness and cookies are now dangerous

Do you remember the happy days?
The world that was so dark was bright around you
Your toys were alive and your drawings were beautiful
Even though it did not look like a clear picture

Do you remember digging through your parents' things?
You wanted to find some clues about your parents
But it turns out that you found something else
Something from the past that your parents managed to treasure through their storm

Do you remember the happy days?
Mom and dad finally stopped fighting when they caught you
They remembered the picture that you made long ago
They talked about that and cheerished it again

Do you remember your happy days?
You finally grew up but you stumbled upon the past
Your toys were staring at you and you picked them up again
And you remembered what to do with them

You still came through the storm and you needed a break
A break from growing up and be a kid again
It wouldn't hurt you said to yourself
Maybe I'll do it one more time

You played with your friends once more
You felt alive and the sun finally stopped frowning for a while
Being a kid was great and you remember it
You wish you would never have to grow up again

Do you remember the happy days?
You are finally a parent after more years passed by
You're busy being a wife/husband and being a parent
Your child is in their golden world right now

You remember your days and wish theirs didn't have to end
But again you remember being a kid once again
The sound of laughter makes your broken heart smile
Laughter has always been the best medicine

The happy days were the greatest
It made our dark world seem like it was nothing
Yes some of you may have not had great childhoods
But it wouldn't hurt to be a child again

The happy days was the warmest days before the storm
But like all things; a storm had to come
But storms have to have a break too
You need a break; get out into the sun for a little while

The days of childhood were the best
But it's even better when you get older
You feel more life than death
You feel like crying but not from sadness

There's nothing wrong with being a kid again
Go ahead and relive your lost piece
No one wants to stop you
Remember the happy days
Before I say anything, I would like to say that yes I am aware that some deviants here on dA didn't have so much a good childhood and I won't understand whatever pain they went through. Basically what this poem was saying is that when we were small, it was the best days of our lives, we didn't have to worry about the world around us, everything was great, and everything was alive in our minds until we got older. And as soon as we got older, things started to change and the sun no longer shined on you anymore, but then one day, you will have at least a break to feel the sun again and relive your childhood. That's what I love about childhood; it reminds me that there was a time when thing were so golden that it was the bright light in our society. I miss those days but someday... I'll relive them and hopefully you too.

I had a good childhood, even though my mother and grandmother descipline me too much; I wish there was a way to go back. When your a kid you don't have a care in the world and a lot times things hurt less than when your a teenager. The only thing I do have left from my childhood is my imagination.
